On the Hill of San Miniato
This walking tour takes you to one of the most beautiful hills of Florence, the hill of San Miniato, with its woods, gardens and striking views of the city from the top.
We start from the San Miniato gate in the district of San Niccolo and climb uphill trough the Rose Garden, with more than 1200 plants and 400 varieties of roses and reach the Michelangelo ’s Square to enjoy the beautiful panorama of Florence.
The tour continues to the Church of San Miniato and after a short visit of the elegant Romanesque style interior, we walk trough the pleasant little forest which surrounds the church and along little streets with beautiful villas to reach the Fortress of Belvedere.
From here we climb down along the ancient medieval walls of the city we are back at the meeting point.
During this tour you will hear intriguing stories, ancient legends and curiosities on the history of Florence to enjoy a lovely experience of Nature and Art.
