The most famous scooter in the world is a symbol of vacations in Italy since the 1953, when it was the protagonist of the famous movie “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The Vespa is produced by the Piaggio factory near Pisa and many models of this scooter are on display in its museum.
During the visit you will see many different versions of the “Vespa” from the oldest produced in 1943 to the most recent models, many of which have been designed and personalized by famous artists.
The "Ape car"
The collection includes also the “Apecar” (“Bee car” in italian, from the noise of its engine) which is the first three wheels van made in Italy since 1948.
With its low price and the fact that can be driven without license and personalized with a low budget ,the “Ape” was an immediate success and became Italy’s most popular commercial vehicle.
A special part of the museum is dedicated to the Gilera Collection, historical motorcycles produced since 1909 for MotoGP world competitions.
Pisa and the leaning Tower
